Exploration continues…

So, after completing the warping, I have woven some more with my explorations of half ‘n half. This time with a warp that has two contrasting colours.

For this scarf, I used one of the Noro yarns again (I love their colours!) for one half of the scarf and a solid colour for the other half – again using the clasped weft (icicles) for joining.

My halves wandered back and forth in this one.

As I was outside taking photos, I was so focussed on the pictures that I didn’t notice this deer just off the porch until she noticed me and started to walk off….

Another Saori Scarf

So, after weaving the last scarf I had an idea. What if I used two balls of the same Noro yarn, started them in different places in the colour sequence and used a clasped weft?

I tried it and I like the result. I call this one “Half ‘n Half”

This is on the same warp as the previous scarf. The Noro for this one is “Silk Garden” (colour 282) which is Silk, Kid Mohair and Lamb’s wool!

Weaving scarves

I am weaving up a few scarves for our WinterCraft sale in December. This warp is brown and burgundy cotton.

On this first scarf, I have used Noro “Yuzen” yarn as the main theme of the weft, with Treasure Basket yarns brought in as icicles and other bits and pieces of yarn and roving added for texture and colour.
