Weaving with purples…
I have been weaving on a coloured pre-wound warp that I bought when I was in Japan.
This is a warp that I have shared with Tara – who wove this vest on it….
I bought a box of purple yarns with one of my orders from SAORI Japan…
They are beautiful and inspired me to finish weaving this warp…
At the end, I decided to weave the beginning fringes in to see if that might work somewhere in the design of whatever I’m going to make with it. When I took it off the loom and laid it out on the ground to take a photo (of course Ms. Snickers had to inspect) – I thought it looked like a LARGE mobius 🙂
So, now it is done, I will wash it and see what it wants to become…
Stay tuned for the rest of the purple journey.
Happy Weaving,
Terri

Beautiful…love it.
Gorgeous vest and mobius! I wouldn’t have guessed that both pieces were woven on the same warp – the colors and patterns are so different.
Do you suppose you have just made the world’s largest hand woven mobius? It would look great displayed on the oversize sculptures that you used for your photos of the Tibetan Khata. (I looked it up – it was on June 12/08 🙂 )

The beauty of Saori is that even with a pre-wound warp it looks different when each person weaves on it.
Still looking for a giant – or large sculpture, but I’ll probably have to cut into the fabric soon to make something to wear!
Happy Weaving!
