Loopy scarf

I’ve started making a Saori scarf with a fine blue Harrisville wool for warp and the same blue wool for weft along with a local wool that I have handspun. When I set up the loom, I took just 40 threads and spread them out, leaving gaps in the reed.

The width in the reed is 6.5 inches. I’m planning to wash it when it is finished and then I think I will start a felting process to see what happens to it. I’m not sure how either of the wools will shrink or felt and it is fun to anticipate what might happen.

I’ll post more when I’ve got more woven and/or in stages of finishing….

Happy Weaving,

I have been working on it today and have washed and done some felting – waiting for it to dry – photos tomorrow. Then decide where to go from here…
