Well, finally I have some weaving to post! Yay!

It has been a while since I’ve been able to weave and so I’m behind on Project Spectrum projects. I finally got the warp on for Project Spectrum – East – which was planned to be May/June, but for me has become August! No worries – there are no rules with Saori weaving, so I’ll just work on this as I am able to…

The colour theme for East is yellow and I had a lot of great yellow photos…

… and I had bought some lovely yarns quite some time ago…

…to do some Saori weaving. I prepared the warp and started to put in on the loom, but then got waylaid for about a month and a half. I finally got the warp finished and wound and started weaving…

Lucky for me, I got a bag of yellow yarns from Tanya who had already finished her PS4 project…

And so the weaving continues – a bit each day…

I’m thinking that I might make a bag out of this from a great, simple, one-piece design – here that I found out about on Ravelry from ReluctantDragon!

Project Spectrum 2009 starts today, March 1.

Details on what it is all about can be found here on Lolly’s blog.

The first 2 months are focussed on the North and the following:
NORTH (March/April)
Color: Green
Material: Stones/Gems/Rocks
Season: Winter
Element: Earth

The idea is to get creative with these ideas as a theme. Whether it is weaving, knitting, photography, painting, basket making, journalling, etc. This is the starting point. It may be the colour green, the season, the element or material – or any combination.

I have found a simple knitting pattern that I think I’ll try as something that I can take with me and is simple to knit. I will also plan to weave something and will look for inspiring photos during these next two months…

Stay tuned. If you want to jump in you can join in on your own or look up the “Project Spectrum Group” on Flickr or Ravelry. Of course, I’d love to see anything that you create that is inspired by these ideas.

Here is a photo taken this morning looking NORTH from our porch …

…a bit cloudy, but lots of green!

Happy Weaving,
Terri
