More Be Sweet yarns

Last week my aunt and uncle were visiting Salt Spring Island and they were both weaving in the studio. Franky wanted to learn to make a woven mobius scarf. She chose her yarns, wound the warp and my uncle John did the threading for her.

She really like the Ocean Magic Ball yarn from Be Sweet and so based her colours on that, using some of the Saori cotton boucle (loop) yarn and cotton with lame.

I love the finished scarf!

    Team weaving – that’s great isn’t it?

Chris – no, it’s not their first weaving – they have a Saori loom at home and they both love to weave – though from what I hear, my uncle John gets the most time on the loom!

Hi Terri: I love this way of weaving and I LOVE THIS scarf too. The color she chose is lovely, blues are one of my favorite as I have blue eyes. 🙂 You sure can tell they love their craft.
I have in-laws that live on Salt Spring and hope to visit more often now that they are there. Do you do studio tours in the summer? Would love to visit sometime.
I have just gotten an old “Iris” loom to begin learning how to weave. I feel very peaceful around yarns/fibers, I have little money and lots of dreams and also rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, shoulders and feet. Yes weaving may be difficult some days but like knitting and bead work, I am bound to continue or you may as well bury me. 🙂 Thanks for listening.

Yes, my studio is open throughout the summer – just give me a call to make an appointment – you can come and see what Saori is all about, try out the looms, take a class. Just let me know.

    Happy Weaving,
    Terri
