Connections

This past February Tom and Tanya came out to Salt Spring for a visit and both did some weaving. It was the first time Tanya had done any weaving and she has been weaving ever since and loves the creativity of the Saori philosophy.

At the time, I was working on some things for Project Spectrum, and Tanya was inspired by the themes has been weaving Project Spectrum pieces and they are GORGEOUS!!

Yellow – Spring – East

We used the Earth Loom to display the weavings…

At this time of the equinox, it feels like so many things are connecting – the directions, the seasons, the weaving, friends and family….all weaving together the fibre of our lives…

Happy Weaving,
Terri

I have just discovered Saori weaving. I live on Lasqueti Island, was visiting a new friend in Parksville who had the book by Misao Jo and was I am so excited by the whole approach. I am a long time weaver and spinner who is also trained as an art therapist and I am absolutely thrilled by the possibilities of Saori. I would love to visit you some day and maybe take a workshop, but in the meantime am going to run outside and build an earth loom! Very inspiring!

I just checked the Project Spectrum and realized that the next one features blue and water… I guess perhaps my beach themed weaving can be my next spectrum weaving. It’s not as *blue* as I might have normally done but it certainly hints at both water and blue…

And I found a couple more fibres/yarns for the Oilers-coloured mobius scarves.

    So many ideas!

Happy weaving to you as well!
