Cherry Blossom at sunset

I finished my first Cherry Blossom weaving a while ago, but was waiting for the stars to align a beautiful Salt Spring Island sunset to take some photos.

Finally, we had the day the time to go and enjoy the sunset. It helped that the next day I had to take it in to be on display for the ArtCraft show!

Salt Spring Island Sunset - Southey Point

Wow!

Well, before the sun set, Alan took some photos of the ‘Cherry Blossom Shrug’.

Now, more cherry blossom warp to work on, so more to come. I already have the next warp made for my Project Spectrum East – yellow ready to go.

Weave every day – that should do it!

Happy Weaving,
Terri

Beautiful! SAORI weaving goes so well with nature, doesn’t it?
My friend who is a potter suggested me to take pictures with no background. I think that is one way, but I really like with nature background.
I usually take pictures with green, but water looks good, too. I should do that since there are many lakes where I am…
Do you know it is said that Minnesota has 10000 lakes, but acturally there are more than that!

You have captured how the blossom usually expresses the fruit in a softening of hue; as if blended with clouds and sun and wind. It must feel wonderful to wear. Now it’s on a journey.

Wow – thanks for all the comments – chiaki, karen and madame craft!

I love the inspirations of nature both in my weaving and in having photos of the finished pieces. The cherry blossoms were so inspiring to me this spring after a colder than usual winter (well, for Salt Spring anyway).

    Happy Weaving,
    Terri

Beautiful – A pink cherry confection delight! If this is for sale at ArtCraft, be prepared to take orders for more.
The photos are all fantastic! Do you actually live there amongst all the incredible background scenery of your photos? 🙂

Beautiful, beautiful weaving. Just can’t take my eyes off it! Very inspiring.

And the sunset photos – well done! Especially love the setting sun reflected in the water. The most “unvirtural” image I have ever seen. The water almost moves as you gaze at it.
