Cherry blossom revisited

Back in the spring I started weaving some cloth inspired by Cherry Blossoms and made a Cherry Blossom Shrug (see previous posts here – 123).

I had a piece of fabric left from making the shrug and so for my trip to Japan I made a top to go with the shrug…

It can also be worn on it’s own…

You might notice that the shrug has been restyled. This was a very simple modification – all I did was tie up some of the braided fringe – about half of the length of the front – so that the shrug is longer in the back. Much more wearable.

Cherry Blossom

This style can be made by sewing one simple seam – or two if you sew instead of tie the fringe. No cutting of the fabric required!!

This photo shoot was done at our neighbours – The Blue Horse Gallery.

Now I’m hoping that I can make a trip to Japan during Cherry Blossom season!

Thanks mom & Noreen. It will be wonderful to have the Cherry Blossoms with me through the winter – and maybe – just maybe take them to Japan in time for the glorious Cherry Blossom season!!
