A virtual SAORI Kai

Well, I know the whole point of a Saori kai is to get together – a SAORI gathering to share ideas, show each other what we’ve been working on, ask questions, get inspired and just get to know each other better. However, due to health reasons, I’ve had to cancel the upcoming SAORI Kai at Knotty by Nature in Victoria this Sunday – so I’m stretching the idea a bit to be a virtual kai.

So, I decided that anyone who still wanted to share what they are working on, could send me a photo, a little about their piece and at least we could see what everyone has been up to – and perhaps be inspired, comment on the works, etc.

Ryan, at Knotty by Nature, has started this off with a piece that he has been working on. He says:

The weft is a combination of hand dyed yarn, with some matching roving
put in occasionally… It reminds me of the ocean

And here is a photo…

Saori Kai

Love the colours, I love your hand-dyed yarns – and it does have the ocean feel. Thanks for sending the photo!

Anyone else that would like to share, just send me a photo and a few words about what you’ve been working on and I’ll post them along here.

Happy Weaving,
Terri

I’m glad for this opportunity, Terri, since Sundays in Victoria aren’t easy for me to arrange. You are so generous to facilitate this and I look forward to seeing what everyone is doing.

I love the idea of a virtual Saori Kai – it gives some of us from further away a chance to participate! (And I guess that means I should send you something I’ve been working on?)

I am sorry you’re no feeling 100% though. Sending waves of good thoughts and hugs your way!
