Salt Spring Fashionistas!

Inspired by this Storm Cloud Shawlette and Project Spectrum – North, I decided to use up the green yarn I had leftover from making the shawl for my mom’s St. Patrick’s Day birthday.

Shawlette

The next week at my weaving class I brought out Petra (my model) to see if I could get some photos of the shawlette.

The “Fashionistas” in my Saori Weaving Class wanted to help and to see how many ways they could put the shawl on Petra…

Project Spectrum

Project Spectrum 2009 starts today, March 1.

Details on what it is all about can be found here on Lolly’s blog.

The first 2 months are focussed on the North and the following:
NORTH (March/April)
Color: Green
Material: Stones/Gems/Rocks
Season: Winter
Element: Earth

The idea is to get creative with these ideas as a theme. Whether it is weaving, knitting, photography, painting, basket making, journalling, etc. This is the starting point. It may be the colour green, the season, the element or material – or any combination.

I have found a simple knitting pattern that I think I’ll try as something that I can take with me and is simple to knit. I will also plan to weave something and will look for inspiring photos during these next two months…

Stay tuned. If you want to jump in you can join in on your own or look up the “Project Spectrum Group” on Flickr or Ravelry. Of course, I’d love to see anything that you create that is inspired by these ideas.

Here is a photo taken this morning looking NORTH from our porch …

…a bit cloudy, but lots of green!

Happy Weaving,
Terri

Don’t Let it all Unravel

Here is a great video, with a great message that I think is worth sharing…

Someone did a lot of knitting (& unraveling) to make this possible.

In peace,

Terri

Socktoberfest Update

Well – one sock done! One more to go.

Socktoberfest

I hear that people get hooked on knitting socks…well I haven’t yet. I think I have second sock syndrome (SSS) – having happily finished the first sock, realizing that I have to do the whole thing over again…LOL! I wonder if I will have the pair done by the end of the month??

So Happy Socktoberfest!

Anyone else out there making socks for Socktober?

Happy Weaving (& knitting),

Things I’ve been working on…

Lately I have been having a lot of Saori weaving classes, working on a project for an upcoming show and finishing off some things.

Here are two bags that I made…
